Mourad Kattan and Joe Sasson, owners of Noble Desktop, CourseHorse, and NYIM Training—three companies focused on professional and technical education—acquired Virtual Design & Construction Institute (VDCI) in January.  VDCI is an accredited online educational institution specializing in design, engineering, and construction technologies.

Founded by the late Al Whitley in 1997 and most recently led by CEO David Sellers, VDCI offers industry-focused training in software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and SketchUp, equipping students with the technical skills needed for careers in architecture, engineering, and construction.  The institution provides instructor-led online courses, certificate programs, and workforce training, helping individuals and corporate teams develop practical expertise for professional certification and career advancement.

Effective with the transition, Mourad Kattan and Joe Sasson join VDCI as Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operating Officer, respectively.  David Sellers is transitioning to Chief Academic Officer, where he will focus on expanding and refining VDCI’s curriculum to meet the evolving needs of AEC professionals.

"VDCI has built a stellar reputation for delivering high-quality, hands-on training in architecture, engineering, and construction software," said Mourad Kattan.  "We are thrilled to partner with David and the talented team at VDCI to expand access to these essential skills and continue providing best-in-class education to students and professionals worldwide."

"I am excited for this next phase of VDCI’s evolution," said David Sellers.  "Mourad and Joe bring a strong vision and deep expertise in scaling online education, which will help us enhance our offerings and reach even more learners who need practical, career-focused training in the AEC space."

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.  Tuck Advisors was the exclusive M&A advisor representing VDCI in the transaction.  In partnership with Evertreen, Tuck Advisors planted 1,000 trees in Madagascar to celebrate the successful deal.
